Kicking things off was the id Tech 4 Doom 3 game running on the four different processors. The Intel Core i5 3470 with HD 2500 graphics was running noticeably ahead of the i5-2400S but right behind the i5-2500K. The high-end Intel Core i7 3770K was significantly faster than the i5-3470 for this Linux-native OpenGL game.

For the Lightsmark OpenGL lighting benchmark, the Core i5 3470 "Ivy Bridge" processor was performing at nearly the same speed as the Core i5 2500K "Sandy Bridge" from last year.

With the old OpenArena 0.8.5 game that's not demanding at all on OpenGL by today's standards, the i5-3470 was faster than the i5-2500K.
