Ubuntu 24.04 LTS & Fedora 40 Continue To Trail Intel's Linux Performance Optimizations

Ubuntu has caught up with Clear Linux currently for the default Python performance. Fedora 41 should be faster in this regard with it approved to now use -O3 optimization levels for its Python package rather than -O2 as currently used on Fedora 40.

PHPBench benchmark with settings of PHP Benchmark Suite. Clear Linux 41680 was the fastest.

Clear's PHP binaries continue performing significantly faster than that of Ubuntu and Fedora thanks to leveraging PGO/FDO compiler optimizations and other tuning.

With the Firefox web browser benchmarks there were some slight advantages to running Firefox on the Intel Linux OS.

The Speedometer 3.0 benchmark saw a huge advantage to running on Intel's Clear Linux.
