Examination:

The Hiper Type-R that we reviewed back in 2005 had a mesh design for added ventilation and the Type-M model we are looking at today is near identical. The Type-M 780W has 28 Amps on the +5V rail and 18 Amps on each of the four +12V rails. The wattage for the +12V rails is 720W of the 780W design. Its peak load is 980 Watts. The capacitors in this unit are from Hitachi and Samxon while the power supply is from CWT. At the bottom of the power supply is a 135mm fan that is thermally regulated. This is the only fan for this power supply. This fan uses a sleeve bearing.

At the rear of the unit is the power connector, which is centrally located, as well as the power switch.

The connectors provided by this Hiper Type-M 780W include one 24-pin motherboard, four PCI Express 6-pin, two PCI Express 8-pin, two FDD, seven molex with EZ-Grip, one P4, one P8, four Serial ATA, and six molex t-connectors. This power supply has been certified as SLI Ready by NVIDIA for use with dual-GPU configurations up to the GeForce 8800GTX, but it has no official ATI endorsement for CrossFire. All of these cables are also long enough for Extended ATX (EATX) cases.
