FreeBSD 12.0 Performance Against Windows & Linux On An Intel Xeon Server
The Stockfish chess benchmark shows more room for improvement on FreeBSD. At least the Clang versus GCC performance overall is quite tight for many of these C/C++ benchmarks.
FreeBSD 12.0 was also the slowest when it came to the Nodejs Octane benchmark.
FLAC audio encoding was another one of the single-threaded tests where FreeBSD runs much slower than Linux and Windows, but using GCC 8 on FreeBSD 12.0 did help cut some of those losses.
