Clear Linux Squeezed Out More Open-Source Performance In 2020
It didn't take long at all to see the last Clear Linux continuing to provide more uplift over the state of the distribution at the end of 2019 or 2018, even with using the mature Core i9 7980XE workstation.
For some workloads the difference is minimal, but in other cases can be quite significant.
For some test cases it's due to GCC 10 bringing optimizatiosn while in other cases it's thanks to the continued tweaking and ongoings over at Intel to optimize their open-source packages for modern x86_64 hardware platforms.
For most tests, the 2020 performance was slightly faster or usually the worst case was the same as EOY2019.
Only in a few cases was there slower performance.
