AMD FX-8150 Bulldozer On Ubuntu Linux
The Sandy Bridge processors pulled ahead of the Bulldozers in OpenSSL, but at least AMD's newest products were faster than the twelve-thread Intel Gulftown products.
The FX-8150 did very well in the 7-Zip compression test where its performance was better than the Core i5 2500K by 40%, but the six cores and Hyper Threading on the Gulftown CPUs took the gold.
When doing some MP3 encoding with LAME, the FX-8150 came in between the i7-920 and i7-970, which were slower than both Sandy Bridge parts.
