AMD FX-8150 Bulldozer On Ubuntu Linux
When John The Ripper was ripping apart the CPUs with its cryptography workloads, the AMD FX-8150 came in behind the Sandy Bridge CPUs (even the lower-end i5-2400S) but in front of the i7-920 Bloomfield and i7-970 Gulftown for the traditional DES option.
With the MD5 test, the FX-8150 Bulldozer was nearly tied with the Core i7 970 and falling in behind the i7-990X Extreme. John The Ripper is another multi-threaded program.
For the Blowfish crypto task the FX-8150 was nearly as fast as the Intel Core i7 990X.
