Trying The Configurable 45 Watt TDP With AMD's A10-7800 / A6-7400K
When dropping the A10-7800 from its stock 65 Watt TDP to 45 Watt TDP, the system AC power consumption as monitored by the Phoronix Test Suite with a WattsUp power meter saw the average go from 95 Watts to 72 Watts. However, for the Unigine Valley test when factoring out the performance-per-Watt, the A10-7800 with Radeon R7 Graphics was more efficient at its stock, higher TDP.
Xonotic was slightly more power efficient with the 45 Watt TDP for the A10-7800.
