NVIDIA 100.14.19 + 8800GTS 640MB
As you can see from the results, the 100.14.19 driver release presents some rather large performance improvements for the NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS 640MB graphics card. However, these performance improvements are not because of a new OpenGL driver or anything to that extent, but it is the result of a performance regression in the previous driver releases. As we had shared in a previous article, the Linux driver with GeForce 8 GPUs was noticeably slower than the Windows driver, which normally isn't the case. However, there does remain a minor performance delta between the 100.14.19 Linux driver and the latest Windows ForceWare release. We will be back shortly with additional tests as we continue to explore this latest proprietary driver release from NVIDIA.
