Enermax Chakra ATX
Performance:
To see how well this case truly stacks up, we installed the following components into the Enermax Chakra:
Hardware Components | |
Processor: | AMD Athlon 64 3000+ |
Motherboard: | Tyan Tomcat K8E-SLI |
Memory: | 2 x 1GB OCZ PC-4000 |
Graphics Card: | 2 x NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT 128MB |
Case: | Enermax Chakra |
Power Supply: | NZXT Precise 650W |
The installation process for the Chakra went very well during our tests. When installing the listed components, we hadn't run into any major difficulties or other issues. One of the items to point out is that the 250mm fan, while physically massive, runs rather quiet. The Enermax Chakra also boasts great ventilation.
Conclusion:
While the case does not look too distinguishable from a quick glance, Enermax has done a suitable job with the Chakra creation. This is the first case on the market to offer a front eSATA port and the Chakra also boasts a side 250mm fan. Along with the fan, the ventilation for this case is great though it would have been nice if Enermax had included two 120mm fans for intake and exhaust purposes. At the time of writing, the Enermax Chakra is selling for approximately $80 USD. While the Enermax Chakra is not too glamorous, it certainly offers some rare features for your next build.
