NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 Standalone Linux Tests
In continuation of this morning's launch-day article for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960, the graphics card that's priced at $200 USD and is built on the very power efficient Maxwell architecture, here's some more Linux benchmark results.
I'm still working on the large performance comparison of AMD/NVIDIA Linux GPUs beyond the preliminary data posted this morning. That's going slow though in part due to the Catalyst troubles with the newer UE4/Metro-Redux tests. I'm still trying to get that article done today otherwise it will be split up and begin tomorrow.
However, for those wishing to see more standalone results for the GeForce GTX 960 with Linux, here's some extra numbers I ran using the NVIDIA 346.35 binary blob on Ubuntu 14.10. Find all the results on OpenBenchmarking.org.
If you want to compare your own system's GPU performance to the results in this article, it's simply a matter of installing the Phoronix Test Suite and running phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1501226-DE-GEFORCEGT18 to conduct your own side-by-side performance comparison. Have other automated performance tests you'd like to see for the GTX 960? Let me know in the forums or via Twitter.
