GCC 4.9.4 Will Be Released Soon To End GCC 4.9 Series

With GCC 6.2 coming soon and GCC 5 already being quite mature, GNU Compiler Collection developers are intending to soon end maintenance on GCC 4.x.

SUSE's Richard Biener issued a status report today on GCC 4.9.4 indicating that the 4.9 branch will soon close. The plan is to do a release candidate next week followed by the GCC 4.9.4 official release.
