Today marks the Fedora 25 Alpha release that also means it's time for the software string freeze and Bodhi activation point. If all goes well, Fedora 25 will be released three months from yesterday.

The various freezes are beginning to take place for Fedora 25 so it can hopefully be on target for its release on 8 November. Details on the various milestones hit today can be found via this mailing list post.

The Fedora 25 Alpha release is currently expected on 23 August, the Fedora 25 Beta on 4 October, and the official Fedora 25 release on 8 November.

Among the many changes coming to Fedora 25 are Golang 1.7, glibc 2.24, Erlang 1.9, PHP 7.0, official Rust compiler and Cargo build system support, Node.js 6.x, and many other package updates. Other innovations include improvements to switchable graphics support, replacing UDisks2 with Storaged, removing Perl from the build root, Unicode 9.0 support, KillUserProcesses=yes in systemd by default, and more. Fedora 25 changes can be found via this Wiki page.
