First up with OpenArena 0.8.8 we see the GTX 780 Ti blasting ahead of the competition for this open-source game. The 780 Ti competition though was among the fellow GK110-based GTX TITAN but the GTX 770 was also giving a nice run for the money. On the AMD side, there was no competition for this particular OpenGL game... The Radeon R9 290 on Linux is in terrible shape with the latest driver as there's still likely some power management / re-clocking issues to improve upon. However, even for the GCN Radeon HD 7950 and Radeon R9 270X, the GeForce GTX 700 series was still much further along than the hardware with Catalyst on Linux.

With Unigine Heaven, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 700 series graphics processors were competing amongst themselves with not even the R9 290 being close to competitive... The GeForce GTX 770 sells for less than the R9 290 yet is running at the speed of this Hawaii GPU. The GeForce GTX 790 Ti that we are focusing upon in this review today was splendid on Linux.
