The CompuLab Airtop Continues Hitting Expectations As A High-Performance, Fanless PC
For those curious about the raw Linux performance of the Airtop PC in this configuration with a i7-5775C + GTX 950 + 16GB RAM + 256GB SSD, I uploaded more standalone test results via this OpenBenchmarking.org result file.
If you want to see how your own Linux system's performance compares, simply install the Phoronix Test Suite and then run phoronix-test-suite benchmark 1603255-GA-COMPULABA92. Or with any of the result files mentioned on the previous page, to compare the thermal performance, do the same process while first setting the MONITOR=cpu.temp,gpu.temp environment variable so the Phoronix Test Suite will concurrently monitor those temperature sensors if available on your system.
So long story short, the CompuLab Airtop PC continues to please and delivers great performance all while being passively cooled and generating no noise. The only real downside to the Airtop PC is the cost with the configuration like we tested (i7 + GTX 950 + 16GB RAM + 256GB SSD) going to set you back $2297 USD. If you want a barebones setup without a CPU/GPU/SSD, this innovative chassis will cost you $795 USD.
You can find more about this latest CompuLab product at Airtop-PC.com. I'm still carrying out more tests of the CompuLab Airtop PC so if you have any other test requests please let me know via the forums. Thanks to CompuLab for sending out this review sample.
