16-Way GPU OpenCL Showdown With Radeon ROCm, NVIDIA 384 On Linux

First up was LuxMark, which is a test that has traditionally faired very well on the red side. With the Luxball HDR scene on the latest ROCm packages, the R9 Fury on Linux is running right in line with the GeForce GTX 1080. While the R9 Fury results are very good, the RX 480/580 Polaris cards unfortunately are coming up short of the GeForce GTX 1060.

Within LuxMark's Hotel scene, the current ROCm performance is much slower than NVIDIA with the R9 Fury performing between a GTX 780 Ti and GTX 970. Bridgman has commented that there may be a memory performance regression in the latest ROCm code, but is unsure if that's the public version or not.

While with the Darktable RAW photography software running on OpenCL, ROCm with the Radeon cards are doing well with the R9 Fury being faster than the GTX 1080 and the Polaris RX 580 being faster than the GTX 1060.
