NVIDIA GeForce GT 220

Our first gaming test of the NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 came via way of Nexuiz. With Nexuiz, the GeForce GT 220 performed in front of the NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT and ATI Radeon HD 4650 graphics cards, but it wound up behind the Radeon HD 4670 and the GeForce 8600GTS. However, even when running at 1920 x 1080, the GeForce GT 220 was still churning out more than 100 frames per second.

With Warsow, the GeForce GT 220 was running at around the same speed as the GeForce 9500GT. However, when the GT 220 was overclocked, its frame-rate increased by nearly 17%. When running Warsow, on the ATI side even the Radeon HD 4650 was noticeably faster than the GeForce GT 220. The Radeon HD 4670 also outpaced the GeForce 8600GTS in this test.

In another open-source game, World of Padman, the GeForce GT 220 performed most similarly to the GeForce 9500GT. The overclocked XFX GeForce GT 220 boosted the performance by 10%. Strangely, the best performer with World of Padman was the Radeon HD 4650 and not the HD 4670.
