Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor was a 2014 Windows title while the Linux port came in the summer of 2015 by Feral Interactive. The game launched with official NVIDIA Linux support but hadn't supported Radeon. The game has worked fine with the Radeon driver stack for some time, but even to do this day when launching the game with Mesa 17.1-dev, there still is a prompt about unsupported graphics/drivers.

With low quality settings in Shadow of Mordor, the RX 480 on Linux was at 40% the Windows 10 speed while the R9 Fury was at 66%.

Pushing it to 4K ultra quality settings, the ratio was better but the Linux performance was still noticeably lower.
