Intel Core i3 LLVMpipe Performance

With Warsow it is pretty much the same story as OpenArena between Intel and LLVMpipe, albeit with lower frame-rates. The Intel Mesa driver could not handle running Warsow at 1920 x 1080 without locking up.

For those interested, above is the CPU usage that was charted by the Phoronix Test Suite as OpenArena was running at 800 x 600. To no surprise, when using the Intel Mesa driver the usage was dramatically lower than when running LLVMpipe off the CPU. When running LLVMpipe the Intel Core i3 CPU was at about 75% CPU usage.

Using LLVMpipe also results in greater RAM usage, obviously, as the video memory is not being tapped.

More results exploring LLVMpipe will be on the way. Results from the legacy Mesa Software Rasterizer were not provided as on this system neither game would run above one frame-per-second with this classic Mesa option.
