Intel HD 4000 Ivy Bridge Graphics On Linux
The much more demanding OpenArena 0.8.8 release had the A8-3870K on Catalyst slightly in front while the i7-3770K was 27% faster than the i5-2500K and 57% faster than the i5-2400S.
For the open-source Reaction game, the Ivy Bridge graphics continued to do much better than the two Sandy Bridge graphics cores, but the A8-3870K on Catalyst was running about 26% faster than the high-end Ivy Bridge.
For Smokin Guns, Ivy Bridge was still a big improvement over Sandy Bridge, which in turn was a tremendous performance over earlier Intel GenX graphics, but the A8-3870K on Catalyst was doing better.
VDrift illustrated another nice improvement for the Intel Core i7 3770K. Ignore the Catalyst results here since the Catalyst driver renders the GLSL shaders correctly for VDrift where as all the Mesa/Gallium3D drivers handle them incorrectly, which is why the open-source drivers have much higher results than the proprietary AMD / NVIDIA drivers.
