How Intel HD Graphics On Linux Compare To Open-Source AMD/NVIDIA Drivers With Steam On Linux

When running Counter-Strike: Source, the Intel HD Graphics 4600 of the Core i7 4790K CPU was running well and came in just ahead of the Radeon HD 4850 on the open-source R600g driver. Of the newer AMD hardware, the HD Graphics 4600 was running 14% better than the Radeon HD 6570 on the Linux 3.17 kernel with Mesa Git.

The open-source Intel HD Graphics compared to the NVIDIA hardware with Nouveau is comical... Thanks to the poor re-clocking support of the Nouveau driver, the Haswell HD Graphics come out ahead of the GeForce GTX 780 Ti and are performing with other high-end Kepler GPUs. This isn't reality when using the proprietary NVIDIA Linux graphics driver but just when using the Nouveau driver in its out-of-shape condition.
