Intel Core i7 4960X Linux Performance

To no real surprise, the x264 video encoding performance was great with Intel's new thousand-dollar CPU.

Compiling the Linux kernel from source on the Intel Core i7 4960X can be done in just about one minute. With a faster SSD, this could be a sub-60 second process to build the kernel... It sure beats the days not too long ago when building the Linux kernel would easily be a 10+ minute process!

The Core i7 4960X also did excellent in C-Ray, one of our favorite software-based multi-threaded ray-tracers.
