The OpenMP-threaded GraphicsMagick program is one of the workloads that is measurably faster using GCC8 on FreeBSD 12.0 compared to the default LLVM Clang 6.0.1 compiler. In some of these GraphicsMagick tests, DragonFlyBSD 5.4 was faster than 5.2.2, but for the most part flat. Clear Linux followed by Ubuntu and CentOS were running faster than the BSDs even with the GNU Compiler Collection.

DragonFlyBSD is doing something funky under 7-Zip leading to very slow performance while FreeBSD 12.0 with GCC8 was nearly up to the speed of the tested Linux distributions.
