The results for the C-Ray ray-tracing performance were incredibly close with no decisive winner, but Mandriva and OpenSuSE had better times than Ubuntu and Fedora.

OpenSuSE had a rather surprising and noticeable lead over Ubuntu, Fedora, and Mandriva with the timed multiple sequence alignment using MAFFT. The three other distributions were pretty much tied for the time it took to complete this test.

OpenSuSE had also led when it came to the timed HMMer searching of a Pfam database.
