In the Golang HTTP benchmark, WSL yielded a significant overhead compared to the other test cases while Clear Linux came out on top and bare metal Windows 10 was right in the middle of the group.

While in the JSON parsing sub-test, both Windows 10 runs were significantly faster than the Linux distributions tested.

Or in the case of Go's build benchmark where a lot of I/O activity is involved, Windows pulled back to being the slowest.

And Windows ended the Golang tests on this Dell XPS Intel laptop being the fastest with the garbage collection benchmark.

The Windows and Linux results were mixed with the Crafty chess engine performance.

Windows came out on top for this Core i7 powered laptop with the 7-Zip compression performance.
