Between the CPU-focused computational tests, there isn't too much of a difference. Debian GNU/kFreeBSD 7.2.0 is using GCC 4.7 while the newer Debian state brings it up to the latest GNU Compiler Collection series -- GCC 4.8.

John The Ripper's Blowfish happens to benefit from a GCC 4.8 compiler optimization.
