The Performance Of Clear Linux With GCC 8
The Apache performance was either the same or slightly faster.
No change out of PHP built with GCC 8.
SciKit-Learn is showing some performance improvements across all of the hardware tested.
N-Queens also came in a little bit faster on all hardware tested.
That's the latest GCC 8 benchmark results I have available today. For the most part, GCC 8 is performing the same as GCC 7 or slightly faster, depending upon the software under test. Only in a few cases does GCC 8 appear to produce slower code than GCC 7. Among other compiler tests I am also finishing up work on some GCC 7 vs. GCC 8 benchmarks using different optimization flags for seeing how those differences pan out.
