The Accelero Xtreme Plus II is compatible with a range of graphics cards. On the Radeon side it supports the higher-end GPUs from the Radeon HD 6970/6950 all the way back to the Radeon HD 3870/3850. On the NVIDIA side this advanced cooling solution supports the GeForce GTX 580 and goes back with its support to the GeForce 7900GTX and 7800GT.

The fin area of the ARCTIC Accelero Xtreme Plus II is very large and even shoots past the length of many higher-end graphics card PCBs. For making the graphics card cooler fit with a wide range of Radeon and GeForce graphics cards, there are three different attachment holes on the cooler's mounting plate.

Installing this very large and powerful graphics card cooler is actually quite easy. First you must remove the existing graphics card cooler, clean the GPU core and RAM ICs / VRs, and then apply the RAM/VR heatsinks to the graphics card with the included thermal glue. It takes several hours for the thermal glue to properly cure. After that, attach the heatsink to the graphics card PCB. The ARCTIC manual indicates what mounting holes should be used depending upon the graphics card model. The three ARCTIC fans are powered by a two/three-pin fan header, which can also be connected to a 4-pin molex connector should your graphics card not have a fan power header.
