Lastly, with the Doom 3 game, the frame-rates for both R500 class graphics cards (the X1800XL and X1800XT) were measurably raised with the enabling of HyperZ.

Now if only HyperZ support could be sorted out for the more modern Radeon GPUs on the open-source driver stack with the R600g driver...
