As most Phoronix readers are already aware, the Radeon HD 6950 Cayman graphics card is another awkward product on the open-source driver that routinely gets beat by the HD 6800 series due to its VLIW4 architecture that's less optimized in the open-source driver. The HD 6950 was also b urning through much more power than the HD 6870.

The Radeon R9 270X remained on top for the best performance-per-Watt followed closely by the Radeon HD 7850/7950.
