When running OpenArena 0.8.8 with a resolution of only 1024 x 768, the two Athlon APUs were each running about 37 FPS, which is no surprise given their Radeon R3 Graphics (Radeon HD 8400 as advertised to the OS) are identical and there's just a CPU clock difference between those two APUs. There was certainly a difference between the Sempron performance on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS for this very basic open-source game where they'd have troubles averaging 30 FPS at 1024 x 768.

With the Reaction open-source game, none of the APUs on the Linux 3.14 kernel plus Mesa 10.2 and other default settings were able to average above 1024 x 768 with this ioquake3-based game. The AM1 Radeon R3 Graphics really aren't meant for any real gaming.
