The latest official release of Fedora is Core 6 Zod. What made Core 6 special was the support for Compiz and AIGLX through desktop-effects, which has definitely amazed Linux desktop users. Zod had shipped with the Fedora DNA artwork. Fedora Core 6 had also seen Anaconda improvements for adding yum repositories during the installation process as well as being home to a huge performance boost. Some of the other changes for this release were the introduction of the DejaVu font, new system-config-printer, Totem replacing Helix player, and significant performance improvements. Fedora Core 6 was released on October 24, 2006.
