ATI v8.21.7 Display Drivers

As the drivers (v8.21.7) were largely a routine maintenance build, along with officially appending OpenGL 2.0 support, there is not too much to expect in the way of improvements over the previous v8.20.8. However, the smaller driver package is certainly much welcomed by dial-up users, and official OpenGL 2.0 support is certainly on the minds of Linux users. Some of the prominent features still missing in action from ATI's Linux software is RADEON X1000 series support, CrossFire, and a prominent control panel. Within the next few months, we hope many of these features, among others, will be appended to better satisfy Linux users. Also released today is NVIDIA's GeForce 7300 budget part, which will be previewed here at Phoronix shortly thanks to eVGA, and for Window's users Futuremark has unveiled its 3DMark06 product.
