CodeWeavers Releases CrossOver 9.2
CrossOver 9.1 was released in July based off the Wine 1.2 code-base, but this week CrossOver 9.2 is now available with more enhancements. CrossOver 9.2 was actually released two days ago, but CodeWeavers' RSS feed and/or Mozilla Thunderbird was acting up so we didn't receive notice until this afternoon.
CrossOver Games 9.2 brings support for the Civilization 5 game under Linux and Mac OS X, with this turn-based strategy lacking a native game client for either platform. When it comes to CrossOver 9.2 itself, it's been upgraded against the Wine 1.2.1 release, as said in the change-log.
Other changes to CrossOver Games 9.2 besides the general Wine fixes in this point release is addressing a DRM problem on Ubuntu 10.10, fixed patching of StarCraft II and a bug that prevented it from running properly on its first run, a behavior fix to simplify the installation of several unsupported games (including Lord of the Rings Online), a mouse-pointer bug with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on some Linux distributions, improved font rendering, and Tomb Raider: Chronicles should now run again under Linux and Mac OS X.
The CrossOver Games change-log is here. There's also a CrossOver 9.2 press release, but it really doesn't add any information or value. For those that aren't paying subscribers of CodeWeavers' products, timed demo trials of CrossOver and CrossOver Games for Linux and Mac OS X can be downloaded at CodeWeavers.com.
