Trying Out Ubuntu 17.10 On A Laptop One Month Ahead Of Release

Some of the buttons in the GNOME experience atop Ubuntu 17.10 currently feel rather large...

The Wayland session is being used by default with supported drivers. There is the Ubuntu on X.Org session available by selecting it via the GDM log-in menu (and yes, GDM has replaced LightDM for Ubuntu 17.10).

After a reboot, the "trash" icon among others had increased in size.... Rather obscenely large in my opinion. On another reboot, the trash icon was appearing behind the side dock and back at its smaller size.

Somewhat annoyingly, after each reboot / desktop log-in, the printer notifications about the same printers keeps appearing.

The default UI scaling is indeed acting funky at this stage on Ubuntu 17.10, hopefully to be worked out prior to release.

Well, anyhow, what about some benchmarks?
