The Blowfish performance with John The Ripper also heavily favored the operating systems with the BSD and Linux kernels.

PC-BSD 8.1 dropped behind with the Fortran-based IS.C test in the NAS Parallel Benchmarks, but the OpenSolaris and Linux operating systems ran at close to the same speed.

With the LU.A test, however, OpenSolaris b134 and Augustiner-Schweinshaxe had fallen behind Ubuntu 10.10 and Fedora 14.

The same goes for the UA.A test too.
