It will be interesting to see how the GTX 900 series perform on the open-source Nouveau driver once there is working support.

Well, that's the story of Nouveau in 2015. Hopefully in 2016 there will be more success to report on the re-clocking front and ideally seeing NVIDIA stepping up their open-source game with code/documentation to complement their first-rate proprietary Linux driver.
