Intel's Mesa GLSL Shader Cache Is Speeding Up Game Load Times
BioShock Infinite didn't see any change in average frame-rate... Which is indeed how it should be for a well engineered game not calling upon new shaders to be compiled/loaded mid-game.
But making use of the Intel shader cache did speed up the game's loading time by about three seconds.
The shader-heavy Deus Ex: Mankind Divided did see a frame-rate improvement, but of course this game really isn't playable with the current class of Intel graphics.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was used as a great example for showing the benefits of a shader cache. With not having to repetitively compile Deus Ex's intense and many shaders, the game loaded minutes faster.
Dota 2 ends up loading seconds quicker with this cache.
