Interestingly with the OpenArena test run first, while Ubuntu 16.10 was a tiny bit faster than the older Linux 4.4~4.5 + Mesa 11.1-dev code, it's still noticeably slower than the older fglrx driver on this A10-7850K system. The fglrx driver was around 22% faster in this particular test.

OpenArena with fglrx also had a lower average frame time and a peak time compared to the Linux 4.10 and Mesa 13.1-dev stack.

Tesseract was a tiny bit faster with the old fglrx driver than Ubuntu 16.10 with the latest Git components too.
