ZaReason Ion Breeze 3770

ZaReason backs their products with a one-year hardware warranty that is upgradeable to two or three years with an additional cost. Unlike most manufacturers, ZaReason encourages their users to swap out hardware and to move to their Linux distribution of choice. ZaReason even includes a screwdriver with each of their computers to encourage its customers to swap out hardware and to better understand their PCs. While ZaReason launched in 2007, they claim to have not received a single technical support call until January of 2009.

Our ZaReason Ion Breeze 3770 review sample arrived via UPS in an appropriately sized box. The hardware was all well protected and nothing was even close to being damaged. The NVIDIA ION nettop was in one box, an optical mouse in another box, a slim multimedia keyboard in another, and in the last box was the US power supply. The main box is one from InWin with their BM series, which is the case that ZaReason had used for this PC.

While the PC itself is our focus, we did take a quick look at the included keyboard and mouse. The USB keyboard is traditional though it does have the ZaReason logo that is screen-printed in the upper right hand corner. In place of the Windows key there is Tux. There is also a row of multimedia keys along the top, which do work with Ubuntu. This keyboard was simply identified as an "USB USB Keyboard" and its vendor ID is 0x1c4f and its product ID is 0x0002. This keyboard is not particularly special or anything unique like the Razer Arcotsa or Logitech G15, but hey the keyboard works.
