The Performance Of Ubuntu KVM Virtualization

The Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron" virtualized performance was nearly the same each step of the way while the "Matching VM" performance tracked the host's performance remarkably well -- with practically no difference when comparing the host to the KVM virtualized guest.

Strangely, with the next ray-tracing benchmark the Hardy VM performance was actually better than the host with Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04. The C-Ray performance has regressed with Ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04 LTS.

There was virtually no difference with the OpenSSL performance.

The MD5 performance with John The Ripper was practically the same with the past five Ubuntu releases.
