In the stock configuration when using Ubuntu home encryption (without the aesni-intel module loaded), the SQLite test was slightly faster than when not taking advantage of the Intel AES-NI acceleration.

There was also virtually no change in the CPU usage for this Intel Core i5 2520M when the two cores were enabled with Hyper Threading. The result variance was slightly higher in the stock configuration, which led to the Phoronix Test Suite automatically executing the test a greater number of times, and thus the time during which the CPU usage was monitored is longer.

Interestingly, the PostMark performance is around 25% higher when *not* using the Intel AES-NI instruction set.

The CPU usage was also unaffected by AES-NI.
