Stockfish benchmark with settings of Total Time. Ubuntu 23.10 10 Sep was the fastest.
Y-Cruncher benchmark with settings of Pi Digits To Calculate: 1B. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.
Y-Cruncher benchmark with settings of Pi Digits To Calculate: 500M. Ubuntu 23.10 10 Sep was the fastest.
FLAC Audio Encoding benchmark with settings of WAV To FLAC. Ubuntu 23.10 10 Sep was the fastest.
LAME MP3 Encoding benchmark with settings of WAV To MP3. Ubuntu 23.10 10 Sep was the fastest.

Some of the results had Ubuntu and Windows performing more closely than what we've seen on some other hardware platforms in the past, but in any event the Linux and Windows performance was very competitive on this AMD Ryzen 7040 series laptop.

Ubuntu 23.10 performed well with the AVX-512 heavy cpuminer-opt crypto benchmarks.

ASTC Encoder benchmark with settings of Preset: Medium. Ubuntu 23.10 10 Sep was the fastest.
ASTC Encoder benchmark with settings of Preset: Thorough. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.
ASTC Encoder benchmark with settings of Preset: Exhaustive. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.

At the end of the day, you aren't losing any real performance if you wipe out Microsoft Windows 11 Pro for a modern Linux distribution on this Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 4 AMD laptop.
