First up are some Vulkan compute benchmarks with being particularly curious how well the open-source RADV Vulkan driver is running against the Windows 11 AMD Vulkan driver on this Lenovo mobile workstation.

vkpeak benchmark with settings of fp32-scalar. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.
vkpeak benchmark with settings of fp32-vec4. Ubuntu 23.10 10 Sep was the fastest.
vkpeak benchmark with settings of fp16-scalar. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.
vkpeak benchmark with settings of fp16-vec4. Ubuntu 23.10 10 Sep was the fastest.
vkpeak benchmark with settings of fp64-scalar. Ubuntu 23.10 10 Sep was the fastest.
vkpeak benchmark with settings of int32-scalar. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.

Overall it was a competitive match when stressing the Vulkan compute capabilities of the Radeon RX 780M integrated graphics. Windows 11 won some while Ubuntu 23.10 also won some... For the most part the results were showing healthy competition with a few exceptions like vkpeak performing significantly better for the fp16-vec4 stressor than under Windows 11 while the AMD Windows driver did better for int32-scalar.

Unigine Heaven benchmark with settings of Resolution: 2880 x 1800, Mode: Fullscreen, Renderer: OpenGL. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.
Unigine Superposition benchmark with settings of Resolution: 2880 x 1800, Mode: Fullscreen, Quality: Low, Renderer: OpenGL. Ubuntu 23.10 10 Sep was the fastest.
Unigine Superposition benchmark with settings of Resolution: 2880 x 1800, Mode: Fullscreen, Quality: Medium, Renderer: OpenGL. Ubuntu 23.10 10 Sep was the fastest.
Xonotic benchmark with settings of Resolution: 2880 x 1800, Effects Quality: Low. Ubuntu 23.10 10 Sep was the fastest.
Unvanquished benchmark with settings of Resolution: 2880 x 1800, Effects Quality: High. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.
Unvanquished benchmark with settings of Resolution: 2880 x 1800, Effects Quality: Ultra. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.

When it came to the OpenGL and Vulkan graphics performance in various cross-platform games, there was healthy competition between the open-source AMD drivers and the official AMD Windows drivers.

yquake2 benchmark with settings of Renderer: Vulkan, AF: On, MSAA: On, Resolution: 2560 x 1440. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.
yquake2 benchmark with settings of Renderer: Vulkan, AF: Off, MSAA: On, Resolution: 1920 x 1080. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.
yquake2 benchmark with settings of Renderer: Vulkan, AF: Off, MSAA: On, Resolution: 2560 x 1440. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.

yquake2 benchmark with settings of Renderer: Vulkan, AF: Off, MSAA: Off, Resolution: 2560 x 1440. Windows 11 Pro was the fastest.

One of the tested multi-platform titles where the Windows driver had more commanding leads was with the yquake2 open-source game.
