One of the popular games where I saw the biggest uplift with SteamOS 3.5 was Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Regardless of running under OpenGL or Vulkan, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive saw a very nice speed-up with the SteamOS 3.5 preview.

F1 22 benchmark with settings of Resolution: 1280 x 800, Graphics Preset: Low. SteamOS 3.5 Pre was the fastest.
F1 22 benchmark with settings of Resolution: 1280 x 800, Graphics Preset: Low, Total Frame Time. SteamOS 3.4 was the fastest.

F1 22 benchmark with settings of Resolution: 1280 x 800, Graphics Preset: High. SteamOS 3.4 was the fastest.
F1 22 benchmark with settings of Resolution: 1280 x 800, Graphics Preset: Ultra High. SteamOS 3.4 was the fastest.

With more demanding games like the F1 22 racing title there didn't tend to be any significant performance difference with SteamOS 3.5 on the Steam Deck.

HITMAN 3 benchmark with settings of Resolution: 1280 x 800, Quality Level: Low. SteamOS 3.4 was the fastest.

HITMAN 3 benchmark with settings of Resolution: 1280 x 800, Quality Level: Ultra. SteamOS 3.5 Pre was the fastest.

Similarly, for HITMAN 3 on the Steam Deck the performance was largely the same as SteamOS 3.4.
