While these new AMD processors cost slightly more than their predecessors, with the ~20% generational uplift being real, they do offer very good value still. As shown in the other launch day article, the CPU power consumption is also similar to that of the existing Zen 2 processors.

That's the initial look at the Linux gaming performance for the Ryzen 9 5900X/5950X... The gains with Zen 3 are real and similar to the reported improvements found under Windows. The ~20% uplift going from the Ryzen 9 3900 series to Ryzen 9 5900 series is indeed enough to surpass the Core i9 10900K Comet Lake. There were some very nice improvements with these gaming results but in the 200+ other benchmarks are even more captivating gains.
