First up was the SQLite embedded database benchmark where it ended up being very slow, even slower than Btrfs and ReiserFS. F2FS, EXT4, and XFS were about three times faster than Reiser4.

In the case of FS-Mark, Reiser4 was faster than ReiserFS but much slower than the other tested file-systems. The flash-optimized F2FS was the fastest in this benchmark.

In another FS-Mark run though, Reiser4 ended up performing decent and in line with F2FS while in this context Btrfs was the fastest.

Under the BlogBench test that tries to simulate the I/O workload of running a blog / web server, Reiser4 was running in the middle of the six tested Linux file-systems.
