Particularly in the I/O tests, openSUSE Tumbleweed with its newer Linux 5.10 kernel tended to deliver better results than openSUSE Leap back on its Linux 5.3 based kernel. In some of the tests the Leap 15.3 Beta was performing better than the current 15.2 stable release.

In traditional CPU-bound workloads, in some cases Leap 15.3 Beta was also offering nice uplift over 15.2 stable. In some cases this meant Leap 15.3 Beta performing similar to Tumbleweed while in other tests the rolling-release distribution still had the upper-hand on this Intel Comet Lake system.
