First up was Cyberpunk 2077, which the past number of months has been running great on Linux with Steam Play. Across a range of resolutions and settings tested, the Ubuntu 23.04 NVIDIA performance with Steam Play was comfortably delivering just under 90% the performance seen with the game natively on Windows 11 Pro. Both the GeForce RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 can comfortably handle this game on either platform and around the 90% mark is a nice point on Linux considering the DirectX to Vulkan translation overhead and other factors with Steam Play (Proton).

HITMAN 3 overall was performing well on Ubuntu 23.04 with the NVIDIA RTX 40 cards while relying on Steam Play. The Ubuntu 23.04 results were delivering competitive frame-rates to the native Windows performance though the peak frame times on Ubuntu for this game were occasionally spiking much higher than on Windows.
