With the holidays quickly approaching, if you are looking for a new 802.11g wireless router to connect a few more gadgets to your network but not looking for something expensive, you may be interested in the NetGear WGR614 Wireless-G Router. This wireless router with four 10/100MB Ethernet ports is fairly basic when it comes to its feature set, but from our testing we've found this router that sells well below $50 USD to be quite reliable for home use.

This wireless router supports 802.11g connectivity, wireless WEP/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption, offers four 100MB LAN ports, one 100MB WAN, dual firewalls, an external 2 dBi antenna, and a secondary internal antenna. Included with the NetGear wireless router was the power adapter, one RJ45 Ethernet cable, two vertical stands, and a resource CD. The model router we were using was WGR614 v7.

The NetGear WGR614 exterior is white and the overall appearance is quite simplistic. On the front of the wireless router are indicators for the four wired Ethernet ports, wireless, power, and connectivity. At the rear of the unit are the four LAN and one WAN port along with the power connector. The external antenna on the WGR614 is not detachable.
